Writes short news and analysis articles on health, medicine, nutrition and related subjects for web site. Researches and writes longer in-depth articles covering health-related subjects for special reports. Scans news and medical sources for new or breaking developments. Edits submitted material as required. Handles blog; writes HTML and other code as required.

Position requires a working knowledge of web technologies. Keeps the website running and change formatting as needed, while reading and critically evaluating scientific papers and other reports on research results in cancer, nutrition, environmental health, and similar areas of interest. Also interviews subject-matter experts in the course of preparing stories.

Must then express the results of this research in language accessible to laymen.

Uses various software tools to maintain website. (Site is gradually ramping up to full-scale launch. Since April, 2008, publishes only occasionally on Health Spectator site, due to full-time duties at Lockheed Martin (q.v.).)
