Solicited, edited, and wrote feature articles, reviews, and news stories for business-oriented computer magazine. Magazine's beat was the business use of IBM PCs and compatibles. As most technically knowledgeable member of staff, was primarily responsible for in-house product reviews of major new products such as IBM PC/AT, IBM PC Portable, etc. Worked with freelance authors to supply other reviews and features.
Wrote and edited After Hours, the magazine's one department for recreational or "after hours" computing. Reviewed games in an entertaining style and demonstrated other recreational uses of computers.
When new management took over Business Computing, was appointed news editor in addition to previous responsibilities. This entailed sharpening focus of in-house news writing during transition period, after which magazine would obtain bulk of news stories from freelance sources. Was expected to manage and edit news section using freelance sources subsequently. Previously, news department had been entirely staff written.
When PennWell ceased publication of Business Computing, transferred internally to staff of Computer Design.
