As Senior Editor, responsible for revamping the Up Front news section of Computer Design, a semi-monthly magazine for engineers and managers involved in the design and configuration of computer systems. Up Front was designed to be a section of exclusive news briefs.

The job entailed rewriting and researching leads supplied by field editors and office editorial staff while training staff and field editors accustomed to monthly journal format to supply material of such quality that extensive reworking was no longer necessary. Primary challenges were in stressing timeliness, exclusivity, and the need to consult and quote appropriate authorities. Succeeded in establishing and maintaining high level of excellence in the Up Front section while performing other duties.

Simultaneously took responsibility for magazine's software coverage. This entailed covering issues and developments in operating systems, programming languages, compilers, interpreters, programming tools and environments, etc. Wrote and solicited feature articles on these subjects. Computer Design was in the process of doubling its publication frequency while these duties were being executed, increasing the need for timeliness in all coverage.

As Contributing Editor, wrote feature articles covering software from an engineering perspective. Also contributed Special Reports covering subjects such as Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE).
